Fine jewellery is made to be worn, but a few simple habits help preserve its finish and keep settings secure.

Everyday wear

• Put jewellery on after perfume, creams, hairspray and makeup have dried.
• Remove it before sport, heavy lifting, cleaning, gardening, swimming, bathing and sleeping.
• Avoid hard knocks, pressure on settings and contact with chlorine or household chemicals.

Simple cleaning at home

1. Use a small bowl of lukewarm water with a drop of mild dish soap.
2. Let the piece sit briefly, then clean gently with a very soft brush, especially behind the diamond.
3. Rinse over the bowl rather than an open drain and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Do not clean a piece at home if a stone feels loose, a prong looks bent or a clasp is damaged. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning are not suitable for every construction, so use them only after professional advice for the exact piece.

Storage

• Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined compartment.
• Fasten chains before storage and keep them flat to reduce tangling.
• Keep diamond jewellery away from softer gemstones and polished metal surfaces that it could scratch.

What changes naturally

Diamonds attract skin oils and may look less bright between cleanings. White gold may gradually show warmer colour as its surface finish wears. Neither automatically means the piece is damaged.

When to pause wearing it

Stop wearing the piece if you notice movement, rattling, a bent prong, a stiff link, a weakened chain or a clasp that no longer closes positively. Contact us before further use so the correct inspection or repair route can be confirmed.
